Question: What makes Windline's products superior to others on
the market?
- Answer: All Windline products are designed and manufactured in our plant in Gardena, CA, U.S.A. with the goal of building a product to last forever. Our products are hand-crafted, not mass produced, by people who consider the quality of these products to be a personal statement of pride.
Question: Why choose Windline over any competitor's products?
- Answer: Windline's products are built with a substantial margin
of safety to withstand the unpredicatble forces encountered in boating.
Careful attention is paid to every detail in the manufacturing process.
We use electropolished stainless steel which strongly resists corrosion
and provides a bright finish. Also, our anchor rollers feature Marithane
wheels, which are unmatched in their ability to resist wear and distortion.
Question: Why are Windline's anchor rollers shot-peened? What is
"shot-peening"?
- Answer: Shot-peening is a manufacturing process that bombards
the product with small stainless steel pellets. This significantly increases
the tensile strength and hardness, and creates a surface that is impervious
to scratches and dents.
Question: If I do encounter a problem with a Windline product, what should I do?
- Answer: Because of Windline's meticulous manufacturing processes, we feel you should only have to buy it once. If it fails or wears out, Windline will replace the product free of charge. In addition, customers are welcome to call Windline directly for technical support.
Question: Why do I need an anchor roller?
- Answer: Windline's anchor rollers make it easier to raise and
lower your anchor without damaging your hull and topsides. Our anchor roller/chocks
can be used with any combination of anchors, nylon ropes and chains. And
Windline's anchor roller/mounts allow you to stow your anchor after you
raise it. These products combine a roller with a way to stow the anchor
on your bow (or in some cases your stern). Although they won't exactly
haul the anchor line for you, they will make it easier to raise anchor
by hand since you can place your body where you can pull more efficiently.
Question: How do I install my anchor roller?
- Answer: Anchor rollers and mounts can take a lot of strain, especially in rough conditions. They need to be through-bolted with stainless steel fasteners to the deck of the boat, with washers and/or backing pads to spread the strain. After the installation, you'll be rewarded with an anchor system that is easier and more enjoyable to use.
Question: How do I determine which anchor roller to use with the
anchor I have?
- Answer: Windline provides the perfect anchor roller for most sizes and styles of boats. To choose the correct model see our Anchor Roller Selection Guide.
Question: What other anchoring products does Windline offer?
- Answer: Windline offers a complete line of chain tensioners,
chain stoppers and other products to make anchoring easier.
Question: What's unique about Windline's self-stowing fender holers?
- Answer: Windline's fender holders fold down quickly and effectively,
increasing the availability and safety of deck space. They fold for compact,
secure and rattle-free stowage.
Question: What size fenders does Windline's fender holders fit?
- Answer: Only Windline offers self-stowing style fender holders in singles, doubles and triples, in three diameter ranges. The most complete fender holder line available. Fender holders fit standard 7/8" and 1" rails, and can be mounted in any position on the rail. Fender holders mount in various positions, and swivel to allow for mounting on boats with low or angled rails.
Question: Why telescoping ladders?
- Answer: Windline's sturdy telescoping ladders make boarding
easier and safer, while taking up less space than any other ladders offered
in the marine marketplace. The ladders are stainless steel, and all models
are electropolished or buffed to prevent corrosion. They have a clean,
uncluttered look, and require only a small space for storage. Additionally,
they stow compactly onto or under the platform, and deploy instantly when
you're ready to board. No complicated folding. These unique low-profile
ladders are thoroughly tested in salt and fresh water, and are unconditionally
guaranteed for life.
Question: What are the benefits of the telescoping action featured
on many of Windline's ladder models?
- Answer: The telescoping action moves up and down freely while
providing exceptional strength. Windline's telescoping design effortlessly
stows into a compact product that does not distract from the clean lines
of your boat. Windline uses much heavier walled tubing than is used in
most marine ladders. Elimination of hinges and pinch points removes many
of the dangers of non-telescoping ladders, and complements the fit and
finish of fine boats.
Question: What types of ladders does Windline offer?
- Answer: The range of Windline's ladders includes: (1) over platform
mounting models that mount and stow on top of the swim platform; (2)
under platform mounting models that mount and stow under the swim platform;
(3) transom mounting models that mount on the vertical surface of the transom
or hull at the stern; and (4) slide mount models that mount on brackets
which permit the ladder to slide in and out of the stowed position.
Question: What kind of step options are available?
- Answer: Windline's ladders come in one, two, three or four steps.
Windline offers two step types. The first type - stainless steel steps
- are low-profile, have smaller space requirements, a sleek appearance,
and are indestructible with non-skid surface or plastic snap-on extrusions.
The second type - plastic steps - are durable, comfortable, wider and easier
to climb.
